When I became a student and moved from home to study at the University of Texas I can tell you that I really started missing the good home cooked meals and the lovely aroma of my mother's kitchen.

There is always something going on with food in the Lonestar State. The Texas Culinary Acadamy in Austin is the only Le Cordon Bleu affiliated culinary academy in the region. You can enrich your cooking skills and learn new techniques of cooking that academy.
Starting in May, you find shrimp boils with some fine tasting seafood. Not only will you have different foods to taste, you will fine wind tasting events and cooking from some of the top rated chef’s in the area. Texas has some of the finest cooking schools around and the Texas Culinary Academy turns out some of the best chef’s around the world. There are various culinary classes in Texas that you can attend to take some knowledge about Texan cooking skills back home.
With all the food events going on, you will find some of the finest tasting foods anywhere you go. Just keep in mind, Texas chili cook offs are spectacular and a must see and visit for every lover of chili!
GOOD FOOD EVERYWHERE
You will also find the typical Texan foods at the state's most famous attractions. When you visit any of the theme parks in Texas, you usually also have the opportunity to taste some cooking by many different area vendors. The El Paso Zoo comes to mind if you need something to do and the Mexican and Texan styles of food will be found throughout the zoo grounds. The food quality at those sight seeing points is estonishingly good.
If you have a taste for any type of food, you can spend your time at area attractions, while enjoying some great recipes that come out of the area. Have you ever tasted peanut-roasted chicken? Well if not, you will find the local venders prepare a great tasting chicken recipe.
Dining at Restaurants
Texas also has a lot of really good restaurants where you can enjoy high-class food. Eat at a fine restaurant for some fine dining and enjoy a meal prepared by one of the chef’s. Their cooking skills are extraordinary. After that, you might try the El Paso Symphony Orchestra for an evening of fine culture. You will never have a minute to embellish on work when you visit the area.
You might even find some things a bit unusual to do while in Texas, too. Visit the Tigua Indian Reservation and see the different culture differences the area has to offer. You will find yourself very satisfied when exploring the fine restaurants and attractions in El Paso so that you can view Texas from a completely different culinary angle.
Beware that since cooking is popular down here in Texas, you might even gain some pounds while you are visiting the state. On the other hand if you visit all the attractions for which Texas is famous you will have to walk around a lot anyway and burn some calories.
