Welcome to my home page! My name is Prattana (Sandy) Punnakitikashem. I am a Ph.D.
candidate
in an
Industrial and Manufacturing
Systems Engineering Department
at the University of
Texas at Arlington (UTA). I received a B.S. degree in Chemical
Engineering from
Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand, in 2001. I also
received a Masters in Industrial Engineering from
UTA in 2003. Before joining
UTA, I had internships at
the Petroleum Authority of Thailand Exploration &
Production, Public Company Limited, the Unocal Corporation, and the
Sherwin Williams Company.
Currently, I work as a research assistant for my advisor,
Dr. Jay Rosenberger, in the area of applied optimization in
healthcare services. My recent work is developing the
nurse-patient assignment decision support model, an algorithm,
and the information
technology prototype for nurse assignment. Click
here for more information about our
project. I
am a member of
Center on
Stochastic Modeling Optimization and Statistics (COSMOS).
My research
interests are in operations research, stochastic optimization, optimization in
healthcare, and large-scale optimization.
