Durai Sundaramoorthi
received his PhD from the University
of Texas at Arlington. He performed his doctoral research in the Center
on Stochastic Modeling, Optimization Statistics (COSMOS).
He has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Bharathiar
University , India, and a M.S. in Industrial
Engineering from the University of
Texas at Arlington. His research interests include
Data Mining, Optimization, Simulation, Simulation Optimization, and Health
Care. Durai developed SIMNA, a simulation of
nurse activity, which is first of its kind for the purpose of evaluating
different nurse-patient assignment policies. During the graduate studies, Durai did projects for FedEx, GE and Thomas & Betts
that utilized simulation, optimization, data mining, and financial
modeling. He has been a member of INFORMS since 2004 and a member of the
IIE since 2001.
