Life at Arlington, TexasDuring
the past four years at University of Texas at Arlington. During my studies at
Arlington, I have published two papers and given three talks at IERC and
INFORMS. I became a member of Tau Beta Pi, the Engineering Honor Society
since 2004. Last year, I completed the Convex Multivariate Adaptive
Regression Splines or C-MARS algorithms. Also as a GRA, I worked in an
environmental project sponsored by Dallas-Forth Worth International Airport.
My major contribution is integrating ACCESS database and providing relevant
statistical analyses. Aside
from work, I love playing volleyball and watching NBA games. I also watch TV
sometimes. One of my favorites is CSI. Other than that, I enjoy watching
musicals such as The Phantom of the Opera and Evita. In addition, I love learning
different languages and traveling.
Because I think through learning languages and traveling I can meet
many people from different cultures. At the same time, it will give me a
better chance to open my mind and enrich my life experience. Finally,
except some professional associations, I joined Tzu Chi foundation. Being a
member of Tzu Chi gives me a great opportunity to serve in a Women’s Shelter
and a Nursing Home. It is the best community service experiences I’ve ever
had. |
