Welcome To My World

University of Texas at Arlington

My Image Hi! This is Asheq Hamid. Welcome to my personal page and at the same time thank you very much for visiting the page.

I am currently an MS student at UTA (University of Texas at Arlington). My department is CS (Computer Science). I am doing my research on Software Engineering under Dr. Christoph Csallner on Code Search.

Before that I used to work as a Software Engineer in “Ankur ICT Development Foundation (AIDF)”, an organization which works with Information and Communication Technology (ICT) based projects and focuses mainly on Free and Open Source Softwares (FOSS). I have worked there for one and half years.

I have completed my B.Sc in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).I always wish to be connected to Software Development. I like applications rather than pure theoritical aspects of Computer Science.

My Philosophy!!!

:)) Well, it is actually some thoughts I have gathered over the years and it is still changing. The following rules are only my own thoughts. Nobody needs to agree with me.But the following thoughts really motivate me:

  • Our talent is God gifted. So there is no point wasting our time thinking that if I were so talented like someone else. But we can achieve many things through sheer hard work that a better talented man might not achieve. Hard work is in our hand. Working hard can help us supercede even talented people.
  • Some obstracle might be really hard to overcome. But the only way to overcome it is to face it. Hiding away from problems are never gonna give us anything.
  • I never think that I'll have to achieve certain output because final achievement is not in my hand. Moreover, it might hurt me if I fail. So I always try to give my best to achieve what I want. If I can give my best and still fail to achieve the output, it does not hurt me anymore.
  • Time is our most important asset. Who says that an unemployed person has nothing? I say, he has so much time, so he has the biggest asset. All he needs is to utilize his time and not waste a single bit of it.
  • Suppose,I give some effort and I achieve something. I can never achieve more if I don't increase the effort.
